Now is the time for new opportunities! AKL Summit brings automotive stakeholders together to discuss current issues
For the first time, Finnish car dealerships can fully outsource their logistics
The AKL Summit event brought together automotive professionals under one roof in Finlandia Hall on 13 February 2025 to discuss current topics and the future of the industry.
In this article, we've put together a few takeaways from the event.
Biila participated in this year's AKL Summit with a big team and some big news.
Right from the start of the day, it was announced that Finland's leading platform-based car relocation service will henceforth be rebranded and known as Flovi.
A moment later, Flovi CEO Aapeli Kallunki shared another important piece of news in his presentation: Flovi is buying the drive logistics operations from Saka.
"Car logistics is going through a change – the industry's expectations for speed, reliability and customer experience are constantly growing. We want to meet these high expectations. Thanks to our extended network of drivers, we are able to significantly speed up home deliveries and car relocations, in particular – with high-quality customer service, not forgetting a reasonable price", Kallunki explained the background to the deal.
The comprehensive Flovi Complete logistics solution was also made available to all automotive sector operators in Finland.

Electrification of motoring – the competition is getting tougher
Vincent Cobée, an experienced automotive industry executive, spoke about the electric future of motoring in Europe. According to him, the electrification of motoring is not only a technological challenge, but also a human change.
“Everyone is talking about e-mobility but nobody is talking about EV charging possibilities. Without a fast and comprehensive charging network, electric vehicles will not reach their full potential," said Cobée, stressing the importance of stable regulation for a smooth transition.
Cobée pointed out that battery life can already be reliably measured and competition in the technological development of electric vehicles is fierce. So far, China is far ahead of Europe in the development of electric cars.
Chinese car industry is leading the way and building living rooms on wheels
China has not only excelled in electric cars, but has also become the leader of the global car market. Bill Russo, Founder and CEO of Automobility Limited, shed some light on the Chinese automotive market at the AKL Summit.
"China is now the world leader in car exports, already producing over 30% of all cars," said Russo.
He also described the technological evolution of cars, reflecting the shift from traditional vehicle-centric thinking towards user-centricity.
"Technological features in cars are already standard in China, and consumers consider them essential. Cars are part of our digital everyday life and are becoming a moving living space, an extension of people's living rooms. It's no longer about driving, it's about the digital experience," said Russo, describing the growing attitude towards cars and driving.

A warm thank you to AKL for organizing a great and important event!
