Biila and Kamux join forces - "Car relocations have become significantly faster"

Biila and Kamux have joined their forces. After a successful trial period, Biila will relocate cars for all Kamux locations in Finland.

"The pilot period went well and we actually relocated more cars than planned. The project has been carried out in a good team spirit. There were challenges, of course, but they were resolved quite easily. The customer is always at the centre of our business, and customer satisfaction guides us to develop our business and build different cooperation solutions," says Kamux Training Manager Mika Järvenpää.

He says Biila is "a excellent addition to Kamux's toolbox".

"Kamux has a large number of in-house drivers and an efficient process. With Biila's help, we will be able to further improve our efficiency."

Biila's Sales Director Sami Soikkeli says Biila is ready for the increase in relocation volumes brought by Kamux.

“Kamux’ relocation potential is huge, so they are a very important client for Biila.”

Alice Othman, who works for Kamux car sales in Lohja, is likewise pleased with the way Biila works. She often needs to relocate cars fast in her work.

“We relocate sold cars from one Kamux’ store to another. Our policy is to relocate the car to where the customer is," says Othman.

She says ordering a relocation from Biila is easy and doesn't take too much time from the sales team.

"The system is easy to use, all you have to do is enter the departure and delivery points and the time window within which you want the relocation to take place. It's a big plus when you can see the relocation price immediately."

Alice Othman tells that she is happy with the skills of the drivers.

"The drivers have been really nice and if there has been anything unusual about the car, for example a tire pressure light is on, the drivers have reported it immediately," says Othman.

Joona Kolmonen, who works as a sales manager at the Petikko dealership, is another one pleased with Biila.

"Biila is particularly good for transverse traffic in Finland, such as from the greater Helsinki area to eastern Finland."

From one car shop to a listed company

Kamux has been among the first to build up the used car market in Finland. Their operation started in a garage in 2004.

In less than two decades, Kamux has grown to become the third largest used car dealer in Europe, challenging old business models. Kamux aims to be number one in Europe for used cars. Kamux listed its shares on the Helsinki stock exchange in 2017.

What is Kamux’s secret?

Järvenpää attributes this success to a number of individual factors. According to Järvenpää, the cornerstones of Kamux's success are cost-effective logistics, strong digitalization, multi-channel sales, a strong store network and a large stocks.

At Kamux, efficient logistics mean that the cars that customers are interested in are always on sale and can be quickly transported directly to the customer or to the nearest store. The process is made possible by Kamux's own ERP system which allows dealers to cross-sell cars between three Kamux dealerships. This is clearly one of Kamux's competitive advantages.
